Fair Value Gap pullback

Fires when price returns to an unfilled Fair Value Gap. Classic ICT entry. Internal type - `fvg_pullback`.

1 min readUpdated Jun 19, 2026

fvg_pullback is true when price ticks back into a previously formed Fair Value Gap that hasn't been filled yet. The thesis: if the FVG formed in an uptrend, the pullback into it is a long entry opportunity.

Shape

{ "type": "fvg_pullback" }

Usage

  • Long entry on pullback into an unfilled bullish FVG.
  • Short entry on pullback into an unfilled bearish FVG.
  • Pair with evaluate: on_tick if you want the pullback to fire the moment price touches the gap.

Pitfalls

  • Pullbacks can fully fill the gap and keep going. A pullback entry needs a stop tight enough to fail if the gap fully fills.
  • The engine's FVG definition may differ slightly from your manual chart reading. Inspect a few historical fires before deploying.
